Ljubljana was awarded European Best Destination 2022.
Join EWCPS 2023 and find out why!
Dear colleagues, thank you for participating at Ljubljana Winterplasma and making it a memorable event! See you in Berlin in two years!
The National Institute of Chemistry invites you to participate in the 2023 European Winter Conference on Plasma Spectrochemistry (EWCPS2023), taking place January 29th to February 3rd, 2023 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The EWCPS2023 will be the 19th time this event is organized and is a continuation of the well-established and successful conference series that started in 1985. These biennial conferences, organized by European research groups in uneven years, have become recognized and valuable platforms to exchange experience and share progress in the development and use of analytical plasma spectrochemical techniques.
Over the course of five days a broad and attractive program will be offered, focusing on topics concerning mass and emission spectrometric techniques, including fundamentals and instrumentation, sample introduction techniques, glow discharge, laser ablation, laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, isotopic analysis, speciation and metallomics, quality control, and applications in disciplines such as geology, medicine, biology, forensics, materials science, archaeology, etc. World leading scientists will be invited to present their research work in the form of heritage, plenary and keynote lectures, and we will offer a number of special sessions, workshops and technical short-courses taught by renowned experts. The EWCPS2023 will host the exhibition where instrument and equipment manufacturers can introduce their latest products. Additionally, a wide range of social events will accompany the scientific program providing ample opportunities to interact with colleagues from around the world.
The conference venue is the Cankarjev Dom, the largest purpose-built conference center in Slovenia, located in the very center of Ljubljana. Ljubljana is one of Europe’s greenest and most livable cities, boasting a friendly cafe culture by day, and vibrant nightlife after sunset. Slovenia (and Ljubljana) was proclaimed Best Place in Europe (2014), top ten best region (2018) and top ten best value in 2019 by Lonely Planet. It's one of Europe‘s most idyllic places to live by Forbes (2008). Ljubljana won the European Green Capital in 2016. Think of Ljubljana as “If Vienna and Prague got married and had a baby, then this would certainly be Ljubljana (... but, with its Mediterranean flair, we might assume that an Italian lover was hiding in the bedroom at a certain point ...). We will endeavor to provide a warm atmosphere, fulfill your scientific expectations and present you with the possibility of tasting the spirit of this region. We will do everything in our power to make EWCPS2023 a memorable event, so join us in Ljubljana on January 29, 2023 and check out for yourself.
Our hospitality will be warm and genuine!
On behalf of the organizing team from the National Institute of Chemistry,
Vid S. Šelih and Martin Šala.
